KET has entered the field of optical communications based on its
high-precision molding design and manufacturing technologies, plastic
injection molding technology, and end-face processing technology,
accumulated over more than two decades of developing and producing
electric terminal products. The know-how in electric terminals and
the technologies acquired through entry into the optical communications
business are what really form the basis of KET's product group today.
Currently, there are largely three core technologies in optical
communications: fiber process technology, micro optics technology,
and modularization technology.
|
 |
1.Fiber process technology
Fiber process technology includes the ferrule
polishing technology and Optical end-face analysis technology. Products
include jumper cords, adapters, connectors, coupler/WDM, and fixed
optical attenuators.
2.Micro optics technology
Micro optics technology includes the optical
path design technology, AR coating technology, and thin film filter
design and processing technology. DWDM/CWDM, isolators, circulators
and variable optical attenuators are currently being developed and
produced.
3.Module technology
Modularization technology includes the wire/die
bonding technology, the photoelectron analysis technology that combines
fiber-optic and electric features, and the injection molding technology,
based on which KET is developing and producing optical transceiver
module products.

|
On top of these three core technologies, KET plans to focus on securing
welding technology that uses laser, and the technology for packaging
automation of optical passive components, thereby growing into a
specialist in fiber optic products.
